With Great Socks Comes Great Responsibility : 3 Ways to Lead by Example
June 19, 2017
"With great power comes great responsibility" - Ben Parker, Spider-Man's uncle. Wise words for those of us whom others look up to. You are the role model. You are the one responsible for showing others what it means to be the change you wish to see. Another wise quote. So if every morning you pull up a pair of awesome, powerful socks onto your feet, you have great responsibility. Here are three ways to lead the way a leader ought to, by example.
1. Don't be afraid to swing into the fray: You should never be above jumping into something and getting your hands a little dirty. Whether it be a project of just a conversation, you will earn respect if you take the time to lend your insight and guidance to helping others who need it. By doing this you also keep yourself sharpened and capable for leading others in their work. So swing into action!
2. Choose your battles wisely: Sometimes it may not be worth your energy to fit a battle that has no real consequence. Good leaders analyze their situations and surroundings and knows when and where to insert themselves. By doing this you show those around you that it isn't about winning every fight, just the ones that are pertinent to winning the war.
3. Treat others the way you would want to be treated: Just because you may be a superhero or someone with great power doesn't mean that you should look down on anyone. In fact, as a leader, in every word and action you need to prove that you deserve the responsibility you have been given and treat people with the respect that you would want to be treated with. By doing this, you show others that you are all equal and that they too have the power to change the world!
If you love wearing awesome socks like these Spider-Man Suit Up Socks, you are already a leader, and that is great responsibility. Show those that you lead what it means to be a game changer by modeling the actions and personality that they can look up to and follow. As that change takes hold, look back on a days work and know that YOU are the catalyst that makes the world a better place!
